Iβve been blessed to have been in AA for 38 years. A little known fact about AA is that the first group that called themselves Alcoholics Anonymous was formed in Cleveland OH, by Clarence Snyder and others, after the Book Alcoholics Anonymous

It truly works! It's a simple program but it's not easy. You actually have to put effort into it.

InsatiableGoal55358, Thank God for this program and I had friends who did great with the help of getting sober..I would attend the meetings and observe, met some of the nicest, beautiful people, great friends and was treated like family. I donβt drink alcohol but they said it was okay because they drank enough for me too..

Trish
They were men with a lot of flaws but God used them anyway. Like the disciples. Helped me get over 34 years one day at a time.

Player #41794449, AA doesn't work for a lot of people - there are a lot of other support groups and programs with different philosophies such as harm reduction or moderation; AA just kind of monopolized the treatment market w/ their abstinence and religious philosophies. It's great that AA works for lots of folks, but I personally don't jive w/ it and find it quite culty and guilt-driven. Keep trying; everyone is different and has a different route. <3

Player #41794449
unfortunately, it didn't work in my family situation....which in turn broke up of family 7...I'm witnessing it now in this generation of the same family.....the program needs to be stronger....some how.....

Boot
should not use last names
