The very first Starbucks is only two blocks away. Additionally, across from Pike's Place is the Underground Tour. They give you a tour of the famous underground, that is what remained after Seattle's great fire. When the 8 block area burned, they built the new area on top of the wreckage. Some shops reopened, and when the sidewalks were put in overhead, they used glass tiles to let in natural light below. Of course this encouraged peeping Tom's to look up ladies skirts, so the glass tiles had to be replaced with the more opaque type of glass tiles later.

ProudRattlesnake2756, - I missed this one 'cause I'm from Okahoma & sadly not as familiar with this area of my own country as I should be. My fault & I'll make efforts to correct this. Maybe take a bus trip up that way. I've found that's a good way to see the reality of our country. Unpleasant when babies are crying, but that's reality.

I remember going to Seattle for a few days on our way to Vancouver. I remember the apples and fresh salmon. We had salmon sent to our home in California.
