What is the prestigious golden statuette awarded for outstanding achievements in the American film industry?

I think they need to add on an award for best all around cast of a film. There are so many actors who may never get nominated …. When you have a great cast that brings so much to the film

this question is fundamentally wrong. Hence, the answer should have been the golden globe since it was stated categorically as "American Film award."

ojinov the Golden Globe includes television. In the US we don't refer to television as "film." Television has its own award as well the Emmy. So the Golden Globe takes a backseat to both of these more distinguish awards in their particular niche.
