When the bridge was 10 years old, my mom and dad took my big bro and me to see it. My dad took movies of me toddling on the bridge. He took the camera out of a WWII plane that was being scrapped. I remember seeing the movies as I grew up. It's been 70+ years!

Was born in SF, lived across the bay in San Leandro, returned to SF to go to college. Walked across the Golden Gate Bridge 2 years in a row to the artist colony of Sausalito and back to SF to celebrate my 19th & 20th birthdays. Many good memories of the City by the Bay. The common nickname of SF.

Chase1, The bridge isn't gold, it's more of an orangey rust color from the anti rust (ironic) paint that is used to keep it from rusting. l was told it was an under coat but l've never seen the bridge silver. And, l lived there 30 years.
