Yusuf, Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain - easy way to remember it. (Richard of York was King Richard III, killed in 1475 at Bosworth Field by Henry Tudor, i.e. Henry VII). (His body was recently discovered under a car park - further indignity after losing the battle!)

last? depends which way you look at them. I was always taught Violet, Indigo, Blue and Green, Yellow, Orange and Red - means red is last

The question makes no sense, I think. Last in what sense? Why do you decide to count from one side or the other? I think the question has to take into consideration frequency or wavelength in order to be complete

The question is misleading to two different answers depending on where you start counting the inner or the outer circle.

I found this question rather strange. This, at least to me, means nothing unless you use the ROYGBIV mnemonic. Perhaps a better question would be "which of the following colours is closest to the centre of a rainbow?"
