When were wheeled suitcases invented?

You really have to stop and think why did it take so long to invent ? Like the paper towel machine in bathrooms…. So simple .. I wish I thought of it.

It is surprising the number of patents granted to various designs of suitcases.

I went on a cruise years ago with an ordinary suitcase and I was miserable. It took us hours before we got on the boat and I had to carry that suitcase the whole time. When I got home I went out and bought a suitcase with wheels. Best invention ever.

why did it take so long? pretty simple invention-wouldve dunnit myself but I wasnt born by then
