Shiraz, the Robin came with a four speed manual transmission with a reverse gear, it also came in a four wheeled version called the Robin, the van in Only Fools and Horses, was not a Robin but its predecessor the Regal

I worked for many years in street near to this plant - the factory was iconic within Tamworth and also the car on the TV! My Uncle owned one of the three wheelers
and said people were able to drive them on a motorbike license. I can't check with him about this as he's been passed for many years. Happy memories of us driving about in one!

Out or interest Reliant made a couple of 4 wheeled cars, the Kitten, loosely based on the Robin and the Scimitar which was a king of sporty estate car.
