listen tracer to use is a radioactive sugar. apparently cancer and other tumors like to hoard sugar so they show up as bright spots. I have a rare type of blood cancer which is concentrated on my forehead, and the Pet Scan showed it clear and bright.

I was scheduled for a PET scan and it was approved by my insurance. I'm sure there would be a copay involved. My Dr decided I didn't need it, so I never found out about a copay.
