Look after the bees, we NEED them, they do not need us. Most of the crops that feed the world are pollinated by bees. So no bees, no crops.

Jonesy, thank trymp and repugnicans for the imminent destruction of that mythical and beautiful world. They (you too?) do not believe in science and want to eradicate the EPA which helps protect it and obliterate the natural history and science education which teaches our children. Such unchecked evil is loose in the world that the fascination and beauty of creatures like bees - will wither and die - as surely will the bees themselves. God help us all. Such unfathomable evil.

What's almost as amazing is that the inside of the hive (either natural or man made) is completely dark, so they can't even see their little buddy strut their stuff.

My daughter has kept a number of Ant farms. Some purchased and some from the wild. They did used to wiggle a bit when encountering each other but it certainly wasn't dancing.

Marco, no, to my knowledge, bees are the only ones to do this. Ants' communication is by pheromones, chemical scents. Only eusocial insects would do this. Wasps communities do not have advanced communication. Neither do termites.

How very interesting. Do ants and wasps do something similar? Do all species of bees do this?
