TWeezyA
Cheech, I believe it was Anne Baxter that played Eve! I recently saw this movie again & i had forgotten how good it was! Of course Bette, was magnificent & so was Anne! I saw it first in the late 90βs. It was good then & itβs great now! Better just had that certain something on the screen! Whatever happened to Baby Jane was great too! Her & Joan just this chemistry & I know they a professional rivalry between them & I read that it was Joan making it it worse over time bcuz she was so competitive & at the end of every day, whomever was in her life thru out her decades, for her & her character, she was concerned for her and she came First whether it be her husbands or children or anyone else of substance & importance in her life! She was very insecure, jealous & narcissistic!! Thatβs what read in many different accounts about her anyway. I do know she adopted her children for appearances only! How sad that is too! Luckily, their rules & process is much more stringent now so people like Joan canβt just adopt cuz they have money!! The children are human beings, not furniture!!

TWeezyA, Mommy Dearest is a movie that highlights Joan Crawford and her selfish ways. That's a good movie too.

Portia
It's a brilliant film and also one of Marilyn Monroe's first.
