What is unusual about the Basenji dog?

As the owner of several Basenjis over the years, I love them. Raised from puppies, they are the most loyal and protective dogs. If they make a "bark" sound, it is only one. Their usual vocalization is a yodeling sound or sometimes a long single howl. Great dogs for an apartment. Mine were very loving, best dogs ever.
