Which animal is in the picture?

Either what animals are in the picture - answer cattle or what animal is in the picture - answer cow. The word cattle is plural. I know it's a bit pedantic but it happens quite often here.

Cow would have been my answer.

There are many questions that have scientific words for explanations. if someone has not had biology or other science classes, this may leave them confused.

Young males are still called bulls unless they have been castrated. Female are heifers until they’ve had a calf.

mousie4, actually the question was “Which” animal is pictured here which gives it a plural connotation. Also the answer cow may not be accurate as you can’t tell from the picture if they are male or female. Cows are females that have had a calf.
