I saw this beautiful statue in 1980. The taxi trip to the top was another adventure in its own; lots of hairpin turns and no slowing down by the cab driver.

NonnyMous, you know what...the peolpe asked Jesus if it is ok to make a remembrance of the King who sent by the Father of All.... Roman Catholic believe that any images of Jesus that they worship is just a representation to the people for they will remember Jesus till death

Corcovado? Really? See? Ya learn something on this site. At least, disabuse yourself of long-held specious facts. I always thought it was Sugarloaf. Love that name, though. Maybe I'll get a cat, name it Sugarloaf. Hate to have those indelible synapses just taking up space in my brain.
