Caravaggio was a true artist in that he had a very aggressive temperament, he alienated people easily..
I saw a movie based on his life years ago, he also had issues with the church at that time as well if I remember rightly, well worth hunting down & watching it..

Player #27643412, In Malta we have at least 3 of his paintings. One of his most famous ones is The Beheading of St. John the Baptist which is inside St. John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta.
