The Castle Rock books are still some of my favorite King books. Each one would mention a character or event from one of the previous books. In one Castle Rock story, a character says, "Yeah I remember when Joe Camber's dog Cujo went rabid and killed ol' Joe." It was a juicy little secret shared by King and his newly forming army of constant readers.
