Marcy, as far as I know, diabetes is not curable. It is definitely treatable though.

I have type 2 diabetes for which I have a daily insulin injection, but the symptoms mentioned in the Explanation are completely misleading. I have none of them, but I do have all the symptoms normally given for the illness. If anyone is in doubt as to whether they have diabetes, there are plenty of answers to be found online which are not misleading, or of course, your doctor can be consulted.

There are two different types of diabetes so this question is a little misleading. Type 1 diabetes is where the insulin producing section of your pancreas stops working and it usually a genetic form of an autoimmune disease. It is not curable but can be moderated with self implemented food schedules and insulin. It can lead to death if left alone and before treatment is about having too high blood sugar because your brain still sees the pancreas as working but without the proper chemicals it can’t produce insulin to combat the glucose in your blood. After treatment patients with Type 1 suffer from highs and lows where their blood sugar can drop of spike depending on many factors like diet, mood, sleep levels, health, activity, etc. Type 2 however is genetic and self caused and is caused by continued consumption of too much glucose (sugar) and the pancreas cannot produce enough insulin to combat it.
