Correct answer: Dementia

My mom suffered from this. While it was difficult to experience, the hardest part was the change in her personality from the kindest person you ever met, to a person that was mean towards others. RIP mom.

I wonder what can we do to help us prevent this. I heard of Lions Mane and other things. I am so afraid of this happening to me as my father is going through it 91 years old and he is in good health except for the dementia. it's so sad

my husband is suffering from this disease, believe me it's very very hard to see how the changes overcome the person, and yet you are helpless,

I'm with all of you who have loved ones with dementia. I've worked in nursing homes, care centers, alzheimers units for many years and have learned to deal with it on a daily basis.
The best advice I can give is to work with your loved one "in their reality " not yours. And don't argue with them.
