little b, the man in the question was not an author. The author was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who wrote the 'Sherlock Holmes' novels. Surely you've heard of him?

Smeeg, Think before you comment, there are people, for various reasons, who have not heard of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

I’m not sure if he should have given his money to his supporters. He was in there for nearly 20 years. Perhaps giving them a small fee but not too much would have been nice. They did work to get him out but he was also owed that money for his wrong conviction and years of hard labor. I’m not sure how to feel about this one?
