patella joins the femur at the patellofemoral joint. I see your logic but hyoid is definitely the right answer. I'm an x-ray tech.

Player #12252603, You're both right. No bone directly contacts another bone absent of disease / trauma. They're all protected by cartilage, menisci etc to prevent that. However, the patella absolutely does articulate with the femur, and both bones are shaped to fit each other - unlike the hyoid.
