I met Mickey and Peter in Lenny's Boot Parlor, a small clothing store around the corner from Paramount Studios back when they were filming their tv show. They were on roller skates and just as silly as in their show.

They came to our city, Albany, Ga on tour in 1978. My friend and I went to their tour bus, parked in the back of hotel parking lot, nobody was around, we finally got the courage to knock on the bus door and it opened...OMG couldn't believe it, some dude says Hello Lassies..we want Davey's autograph we shouted, standing on the steps of bus, could barely see him inside but he gave us both one on a Pizza Hut napkin, still have it autograph

CarlesB, Yes it is the Monkees. I used to watch them on TV all the time when I was a kid, and I have several of their albums. That is all 4 of the Monkees.

in the early 90s, we lived by Davey Jones in PA. met him a few times. being 5 years old my brother and I didn't know who he was. the last bit about outselling the other 2 bands isn't true. I think Peter made that up to mess with people, and it was posted as fact.

One summer in the ninetys California Adventure across and part of Disneyland had different bands from the past every night. So I saw the Monkees, Bangles, and I forget who else. They performed all their popular music and any new stuff they had. Only for amusement park admission. It was great seeing several groups in person, 1st and only time in my life.

Lester Seals Pres. of Screen Gems hired Tommy Boyce n Bobby Hart to write n record the 1st 2 albums. they were in the can 6mos. before Lester picked the 4 ACTORS. Bill Lewis n Hal Blaine recorded the drum tracks. Bill was my husband. listen to Boyce n Hart Family albums. U can't tell tell the difference.
