jojo, Thanks for pointing out my error without providing clarification. M.C. Escher was fascinated by the Penrose Stair illusion, and used it in several of his drawings. The Rochester Institute of Technology has built an optical illusion using mirrors and secret passages that appears to be a real set of Penrose stairs.
