Marcy, I grew up in New Zealand and we called that fruit Chinese Gooseberry, not kiwi. you never see a kiwi, it's a night bird, but we could hear them.

New Zealanders also called themeselves Kiwi and also have a kiwi fruit

a Actually kiwi related bones found in Australia! So... it seems the famous Kiwi may have Australian origins!
