Nice day for a bit of a chill out once the rush leading up to Christmas over, plus a chance to be thankful that the turkey cooked properly!

I was told that after the Christmas dinner, there was no way to store the food. The next day, they would box up the leftovers and give to the poor.

As I understood Boxing Day in the English armed services/upper class households was a day in which officers/employers switched rolls with enlisted/servants for the day. Officers/employers would do the work normally done by enlisted/servants and they in turn would get a rest from their labors. Don't know if this still occurs but it seems a great tradition.

Now that I know the origin, I am starting a campaign to reinstate the tradition of charity. Too often, the charities stop on Christmas Eve. Time to share the wealth.
