What ancient script is used in the writing of the Ancient Egyptian civilization?

Hieroglyphics I remember because I did a school report about it. Stuff schools don't have in the curriculum nowadays.

I think the ancients were on to something. If it took months (or years) to chisel out thoughts and policies, perhaps those in charge would be more cautious...
