Correct answer: Pitchfork
RottieMom
The man in the painting was Wood's dentist and the woman, his sister. I am from Cedar Rapids, Iowa where wood had a studio and not far from the Anerican Gothic house that is still standing.

One of my favorite paintings. Framed a poster of it promoting a 1984 exhibit of Wood's works at AIC (Chicago).

RottieMom - the beautiful stained glass gothic window from the actual house in this painting, is now inside a home in Guntersville, AL. My husband is the man that hauled it and installed it!!
