Cookie, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with all of that. Unfortunately we didn't find many things that worked for my Dad. When his entire back went into spasm, the doctor prescribed very strong Valium. We had to wake him to give him his next dose. It fixed the spasms but didn't do anything else. I would recommend, although you probably have tried this, heating pads and a massage pad.

I would love to know what meds, natural remedies, exercises, etc have helped you. I was diagnosed with Ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthiritis, psoriatic Arthiritis, and degenerative disc disease (which most of us have at some level).

And it is so very painful - imagine not being able to stand , walk, or sit without being in excruciating pain. Now add neuropathy to it, and it's so much to deal with

The spellchecker is not my friend! Obviously it's Spondylitis and not eponymous🙄

Eponymous is different from Ankylosing Spondylitis. Spondylosis is akin to arthritis. My father suffered from Spondylitis for over 50 years, it was heart breaking to see him in so much pain. He only finally got relief after the bones in his back fused and stopped grating together. He walked with a pronounced stoop and couldn't really turn his head. It's an awful disease.

I knew nothing about this, until I was diagnosed with it. Ankylosing spondylitis. Had it now for 28-29 years. The first few years were really tough. Back usually stiff and some lower back pain. Hard to sit or lay for too long. Now I don’t have full rotation of my neck and I walk hunched over. Despite this, it didn’t stop me from finishing college or lawyer, becoming a lawyer, or becoming an amateur boxer in my 40s!

I know first hand what it is like. Even sitting for a long period causes pain. I spend most of my time in bed lying on my side.
