He was on the U.S. Supreme Court, during the Warren Court, when numerous Court decisions totally changed the justice system: search and seizure, Miranda Warnings, the need for warrants, before the police could enter your home and search for whatever they wanted to. I wish I had been older, during that incredible legal history. At the time, the police and even citizens, like my father, were enraged by those decisions, insisting the police were being handcuffed. NOW most police shows rarely show police reading a suspect their Miranda warnings. I think most people have come to realize that those historical rulings, not only protect suspects, but also citizens.

Marshall served on the Warren Supreme Court, that really reminded the day to day oeopke, that there really was a Supreme Court, that held a great deal of auth ority and power. The Court really spelled out the meaning of our constitution when they made laws that literally affected every person in America, from infants to the elderly, I'm decisions, such as Miranda and Escapedo. The public and police were enraged and claimed that police were being handcuffed. Today I believe most citizens have come to have some accurate understanding of those Court decisions and accept them. I only wish I had not been 5 years old, f
