Akita is a breed of dog from which country?

A very handsome, affectionate dog. I had the pleasure and privilege to meet Rolex in an Akita shop in Miami. Rolex was still a puppy at that time (mid-80s) but was already in the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest Akita. His head was bigger than a basketball! The only other dog for sale there was his sister. They were both sweet tempered and quiet. I scratched Rolex's ears while we spoke with the owner and just sat at heel and leaned against me. Wish I could have owned him but even decades ago he was out of my price range: $2800!
