How many people lost their lives during the carving of Mount Rushmore?

Thank God no one lost their life. It looks amazing.

my daughter worked here at the monument a few years ago. she enjoyed the area and I loved visiting.

Jackie, we took it from the Sioux who stole it from the Cheyenne who stole it from the Kiowa.

And, who cares that we took all that supposedly worthless land back from the Native Americans, after we gave it to them. Gold was found, so once again we betrayed them & forced them off the land & carved our leaders faces into the rock.

That is amazing no one lost their lives. There are many American tribes I am part Native American. Soon movies will come out depicting the true behind native Americans. We will all become more knowledgeable..
