What does the word "veridical" mean?

Thank you for the etymology of the word. Too often this is missing from explanations of word meanings but I always want to see it.

Never heard of this word before. Would be nice to know where it is commonly used

Yeah I feel the same way!! I can always count on my mom to give me veridical advice!!! I can!! and I'm thankful that my mom is truthful and loves God and Jesus!! she's the best mom ever!!
