How did Amelia Earhart give her leather jacket a 'worn' look?

there is film of Earhart on you tube with vivacious smile and cool accent. she obviously loved being an aviator and very happy person. they still not sure where her plane crashed in the Pacific.

She must have slept on rocks and sand. I doubt if a normal mattress would put much wear on it. Sweat, maybe.
