Dorothy, yeah, my mother had her tonsils removed when she was 16 because she kept getting really bad, painful sore throats all the time. Once they removed her tonsils, no more sore throats!! ;)

Had my tonsils taken out when I was 5. Pretty standard procedure back in the 40s and 50s. Drs didn't think b they served purpose. Now they are fairly sure they do have a use. just don't quite know what that purpose is.
