BoDerek1951, why a "single mother"? And what is a " normal housewife "? Surely anyone can have a go at anything regardless of gender or marital status? You just have to believe it's worth the effort and hope it turns out OK. give it a go and let me know if it works ;-)
DryFilling5
BoDerek1951, absolutely, you can. You have to use whole milk, though. I've done it a couple of times because you can't always find it in stores with no salt added, and I can't have salt.

Ricotta is used to make yummy cannoli too.

I wonder if a normal house wife or single mother can make ricotta cheese in her kitchen. As the the old saying goes. Follow the leader curiosity killed the cat. Sure would love to take a class in making ricotta cheese for myself, and my family.

BoDerek1951,
I assume by normal housewife or single mother you mean awesome person .
I have one in my family and cannot believe her level of achievement when she wants to do something. Just believe that you can and you will.

I love Ricotta cheese. When I make lasagna, I put pepperoni in it and I take one and dip it into the Ricotta! Yummers 😋

BoDerek1951, Not just this but many things are often no longer passed down to the next generation especially like how to make bread other then dumping into a bread maker! Lol!😂
Mari
this is so interesting, that ricotta is made from the whey
adams101313
BoDerek1951, it's actually suppose to be pretty easy, you just need to circle the milk. I saw a recipe on food network. Google it and you should be able to do it.

BoDerek1951, it's 2023, " normal housewife" is offensive, as if there are abnormal ones, or as if men can't make ricotta. Good grief, get with it.

BoDerek1951, What does "single mother" have to do with cooking? Is that your go-to sympathy ploy?

BoDerek1951, "normal house wife" there is nothing normal in being a house wife, or as I call it a "domestic engineer" I gave birth, I cook, bake cakes and bread, clean, do laundry. and i still have some time to myself. what do you do ? we are worriors,

penawareof, true but use impastata instead. It’s ricotta with less moisture so the vanilla will be less runny. Also mix in some mascarpone as well!
