What was the name of the community featured in the "L'il Abner" comic strip?
Correct answer: Dogpatch
Heartland Old Guy
Hey, I'm only 66, and I remember Lil Abner. And just like The Saturday Evening Post, Life, and The New Yorker, it shows a little history. Where we were as compared to where we are now. It wasn't always correct, and certainly not politically correct, but it was always funny.

I also enjoyed Walt Kelly's comic Pogo: "We have met the enemy and he is us."

Heartland Old Guy, I'm 66 as well, and was born in the deep south. My dad was USAF, and we lived in many locations in the USA & Europe. I was more well-rounded because of that, but L'l Abner made me look at the south through different lenses.

Had the honor of playing the part of lil Abner in a musical based on the comic strip. Fun to do. the 1950 +/- film isn't the same thing.
