saintmike801, I grew up in Vegas. My late Father-in-law was a Captain at the DI and Sands. My husband and I went with him to a Captain and Mat're'd soiree where Goulet showed up. He wasn't going to sing but when I mentioned "If Ever I Would Leave You" was a favorite of mine he sang it for me. Unforgettable night! :)

Myst Maven, he was also on Carol Burnett quite often. Robert Goulet is a distant relative, my great-grandmother and his grandmother were sisters so I had a tendency of following his career.

He acted in soo many shows. I rewhen he starred on an episode of Bonanza and he sung and acted like a preacher, when in reality, he was nothing but a 2-bit conman. Anyway, his singing and acting were terrific.

Melode, I had the same album and listened to it over and over. I love Broadway musicals, but I think Camelot is still my favorite (followed closely by Man of LA Mancha). I saw it at the Valley Forge Music Fair with Richard Harris, who played Arthur in the movie. My best friend wouldn't go with me because she proclaimed she would only see it with Richard Burton. I told hervsince Mr. Burton was dead, Mr. Harris was the best we could do. So I went by myself and he was wonderful.

Lione ssa, My dad once went on a double date with Edie Gormè, long before she was famous (They both grew up in Philly). When I asked what she was like, Dad shrugged and said, "She was a fat, little Jewish girl." We are also Jewish, so he wasn't being antisemitic.

Some of you older players might remenber the animated movie "Gay Purrree" It starred the voice talents of Robert Goulet, Judy Garland, and a great supporting cast. It was quite a nifty animated movie.

This might end the confusion. Robert Goulet performed with his then-wife, Carol Lawrence. Steve Lawrence performed with Edie Gourmet. Goulet & Gourmet weren't together.

His wife for many years was also very accomplished as an entertainer and her name was Edi Goulet. Don't know if I spelled her name right. Anyway they sang together almost religiously but she sang solo and l think they together won a few awards.

I lived in Lawrence, MA for 2 years and never knew this. At one entrance into the town, there is a sign that says it's the hometown of Robert Frost and Leonard Burnstein. I also learned that one Mary Ann Brown was found dead in her apartment, believed to be a victim of the Boston Strangler. I remember that since my g-g-grandmother was named Mary Ann Brown.
