What the United States engaged in with slavery was absolutely the wrong thing to do. And no same person would argue that it was the right thing. it was a different time, place and mentality. But, you also forget to mention that there were so many in the United States, who objected to slavery and fought against it. And how many thousands of young soldiers who fought for the union army in the Civil War died in the cause to end slavery. Look at the cruelty and wrongful acts that were committed by England, for example. The apartheid in South Africa was defeated, but now look at the terrible abuses that are going on in South Africa? Please look at the history of the Middle Eastern countries and the abuses that continue there even today. I don’t want to upset you, but the United States of America has been and continues to be the greatest country on the planet. Our ideals spread to France after the American Revolution and resulted in their own revolution where they deposed their monarchy to also become a republic. If the fact that the United States engaged in slavery early in its history, upset you so much, then perhaps it would be good for you to take your talents to a utopian country on this planet – assuming you can find one. Good luck, my friend trying to find a country that hasn’t engaged in some type of abuse oor domination in its history. Perhaps the continent of Antarctica would suit you?
