Incredible voice with a fantastic range, but his popularity should be greatly accredited to Jim Steinman who wrote the majority of Meatloaf's material.

This man has a phenomenal & very distinctive voice. All that he is & feels resonates throughout is music, his acting, his ability to turn his life around & be the well rounded powerhouse he is. The marriage of Jim Steinman's songs & Meatloaf's voice is perfection. The work Meatloaf did on "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" was fantastic, not everyone can do that song & be understood. He also was wonderful in "Black Dog". Absolutely marvelous in concert! A wonder to behold indeed.

My first remembered exposure to Meat Loaf was as the opener for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with the duet done with Carla DaVita. The song was originally performed on the BOOH album with Ellen Foley, but on a live stage, Carla took it over. Meat Loaf was in the movie as well and a featured prominent cast member. He was also in the movie Wayne's World as the door guy for the club (incidentally that club was Baltimore"s Hammerjack Rock Club).
