Many Southeastern states, such as mine, use flame throwers in the process of "controlled burning" which burns dry "fire fuel" that intensifies forest fires. Those concerned about reducing the risk of major forest fires should be thankful that flame throwers are not "outlawed" Nationwide.

I just looked it up, as a resident of Marylandistan, it's unavailable in Maryland. It's legal in CA with a pyrotechnics license.
