Honi is a shield maiden. Probably an actual category of viking warriors. Archaeologists have discovered many internments of female warriors. When the men went out a Viking they stayed home and defended the others if attacked. They've found women with sewing and cooking grave goods and full armor. one I've read of was buried in a ship just like royal male graves. Hagar's original creator probably was a lusty dreamer, but his dreams were true.
