Correct answer: The ratio of circumference to diameter of every circle
Timoteo
I have alway used 3.1415 as pi. For what I was doing, four decimal places provided adequate precision.

Five decimal places is probably the most you need. 8 or so is enough for inter-planetary travel. Beyond that it's basically just a competition.

Pi is the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet. (Count them.) I have always used 3.1416 since the next digit is 9, not that it makes that big of a difference.

In 2019, we calculated 31.4 trillion digits of π — a world record at the time. Then, in 2021, scientists at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons calculated another 31.4 trillion digits of the constant, bringing the total up to 62.8 trillion decimal places.
Pi is infinite number so yeah...

π is an irrational number, which means that it cannot be expressed as a fraction and has an infinite number of decimal places. 3.14 and 22/7 are approximations of π. Incidentally, π is the 16th letter of the greek alphabet.

Shiboge,
Infinite pies sound good to me .
But only in varying flavours .
Kiwozzie
Yes I remember being taught pi as 22/7.
Shiboge
It is pi and not pie as I just commented.
Shiboge
Pie is an infinite number. I think most common is to go with 3.14 as good enough but it is the actual fraction of 22/7. Twenty two over seven.
