Mt. Vesuvius is the volcano that erupted decimating the towns of Pompeii & Herculean (spelling may be off, sorry). It is both fascinating and horrifying to see pictures of how well preserved their lives were thanks to the eruption. Terrifying is all I can think of as those poor people had little chance of escaping their fate. May they rest in piece.

I'm Sicilian/ American and so proud of my heritage. Sicily has an amazing history. Anyone from Sicily is not considered Italian. We have so many different ethnicities in our lineage that Italians refuse to call us such. We have Greek, French and African blood lines due to the many different countries that invaded Sicily.

I was born in Catania, and have relatives in Ragusa and Siracusa. I live in the USA am I’m Italian/American, but want to go back. It’s so beautiful, the food, the tropical weather, the ancient history. Love the old Churches. Life there is slow paced and they aren’t like US, so fast paced and instant everything. Life should be enjoyed.
