very interesting to know. there's also a type of pink, nicknamed drunk tank pink, because it was used to paint prison cells, believing it was a calming colour. How ever, people who had been to prison, and were subjected to this colour, would often be reminded of prison when seeing pink, and would get angrier.

Aesirkind, pink is calming only for a short period, like the time spent in many holding cells or drunk tanks (hence the name.) Long term exposure produces anxiety and depression. It's use in prison cells is effectively psychological torture. Blue is best for longer term calming effects.

I hav e never liked solid yellow, except from the color of the sun on a summer day or an accent in paintings

Aesirkind, I didn't know about that but I guess it was more the memory reminding them and not the colour itself. Also for male prisoners might feel pink was kind of an "unfit" or feminin colour for "masculine" environment. I don't know, I just thought I share this thought.

I love Blue. I think light Blue is Prob best maybe a Light cyan blue or even Aqua. Yellow is not a good Color to paint Any Room Esp. a Babys Room or a Bathroom.In a Bathroom, if there is a yellow light it makes the bathroom look Dark the Ceilings look Dirty too!
