What is the highest hand in straight poker without any wildcards?
Correct answer: Royal Flush
Nutshell
For those who don't know how poker is played, in "straight poker" each player is dealt 5 cards from a standard deck and that's the hand they bet on and play.
-A straight means all 5 cards can be put in order. (ex. 8, 9, 10, J, Q)
-A flush means all 5 are the same suit. (5 hearts, 5 clubs, etc.)
-A full house means you have 3 of a kind & a pair. (ex. 2, 2, 8, 8, 8)
-A straight flush means they're in order & the suits match.
-A royal flush is the highest straight flush possible a 10, J, Q, K, A (all of the same suit).

I hate Texas Hold'em. When I gathered with my buds to play poker, it was dealer's choice. Draw, stud, low hole, oh, so, so many variations. Now, that's all people play. Oh, for the good ol' days.

Player #26681877, a Royal flush is a straight flush but a straight flush is not nec a a Royal flush, which has the royals of the suit as opposed to lower cards. As you can see from the explanation in the answer the odds are diff. Harder the odds: higher the hand. Hope that helps. 😉🎓

GordonPasha, 5 of a kind does actually beat a Royal flush if you have a wild card
