St. Patrick's cross was replaced by what Irish icon to celebrate the feast of the country's Patron Saint?
Correct answer: Shamrock

The Shamrock is/was a symbol of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Three persons in one God. Shamrock always have three leaves. Hence the symbolism.
The British did treat the Irish badly, including banning their Patron Saint's symbol. But now the Irish Queen's Guards actually wear shamrock on their uniforms on St Patrick's day.

Player #3532789, it's The Irish Guards (no Queen in the title ) and they are presented with a shamrock by their Colonel in Chief who is The Queen.
