In which European country is the Dão wine region?

Don't worry, I am Portuguese and just learned that the main cast/grape used to produce the world-famous Port wine is Touriga(this wine is considered by most to be the precursor and first quality control protected wine region in the world) I would suggest starting slowly with white wine likes from the Alentejo region(south of Portugal) or similar fresh and fruity wine or even a Rose wine and enjoy it from there, the most important part his always to have fun doing it with friends.
