My hometown and favorite high school hangout is the basis for the show. The brothers who wrote it were attending the University of Redlands in Southern California. The pizza joint was called “Gay 90’s”; we just called it “Gays”. It was known for Cashews on their Pizza.

I binged the whole show with my dad last year, so im slightly disappointed that i missed this one :(
