he cared deeply and it came out in his painting. sometimes it takes a big emotional hit to your psyche to make you see that side of life. he obviously suffered from depression after that.

RoyalChicken69431, bit of a mean response to Dina Diaz, I have to say. Who knows why he, or she, is homeless. The point is also a fair one. Paying that much for a painting, could be considered as rather obscene obscene, given all the good causes that could benefit, even though I enjoy art. I also believe that everyone has the right to do what they want with their own money, and that a totally socialist approach to life and the economy does not eventually make anyone better off, in the end. To take Dinadiaz’s point to its natural conclusion would mean that no one could own anything, or enjoy the products of their industry and contribution. That is called communism. And it has never worked, wherever it has been tried. We can disagree with the point that has been made, but that does not justify having a go at the poster. As I said, you do not know anything about this individual, and their life circumstances. It seems to me though, that there is a willingness to work, as the message as that perhaps the purchaser of the painting could give him/ her a job so that there could be opportunity to get out of the situation.

He even lost his sister at a young age if I'm correct and his friend committed suicide. But Picasso didn't let that hold him back from perusing his dreams of being a successful artist.

Trey, I am sorry but you have a very common opinion that "anyone" can make art. It is not like that.... To make real abstract art, take as much if not more effort than a representation of reality.

Criticism of art is like evaluating music. Some only like realistic art, yet even Monet, Manet & Cezanne were criticized in their time.. To understand abstract art for some is like making sense of Jazz or Death metal vs bluegrass or classical. You either appreciate it or you don't, it doesn't make any less of the artist. How many people will stand in awe at an equation of quantum mechanics ? It's as beautiful to some.

Trey, Glad to see you have an opinion, but please don't paint everyone with the same brush. everyone sees art in different ways, and that is one of the reasons I consider myself an artist.

GruesomeBaker11332, God didn’t say that. A human did. Sometimes people are unable to help themselves. Walk in Dinadiaz’s shoes, then criticize.
