I agree with you all! This movie may not have been liked by critics, but who likes or cares about THEM anyway? I watch this film whenever I can catch it, and Sting played a great part, and David Paich and TOTO did a wonderful job on the music! 😌

It was an awful film! Sting's acting was wooden and unconvincing, and the whole production did no favours for Frank Herbert's amazing story. It was a lead balloon, and rightly disappeared quickly. Sting returned to something he could actually do, ie write good songs, sing and play bass. The new Netflix production is not much better, IMO - slow, ponderous and boring.

To condense an epic novel such as Dune into a two and a quarter hour movie was always going to present a challenge, but director David Lynch just about pulls it off.
