Interesting new info on King Tut. He was suffered from a deformaty in his legs as well as other abnormalities that are associated with inbreeding. Fascinating history.

What is astounding are the treasures discovered considering he was an unimportant pharaoh. His ambitious predecessors had their majestic tombs ransacked over millennia, so one can only imagine the enormous wealth originally buried with them. Tut was lucky in that his escaped pillaging so today we think of him as important. He wasn't in his day.

Angers me to think that people feel it's ok to disturb the dead, empty his tomb and take every he stood for and display it. Im not sure what I'd do if someone dug up my ancestors. Put little Tuts back I say. RIP

DistressedHunter8576, poor kid was in pain his entire life. Not only did he have buck teeth and a flat head, he had extra wide hips and his left foot was a club foot. He was unable to spawn children because of do many years of inbreeding. His wife, the mother of 2 stillborn daughters found in his tomb, was also his half sister. They wanted to keep the blood pure and didn't understand what happens when there's too much inbreeding. Tut's parents were full blood brother a d sister.

WaldoLydeker, Because he was a "lesser" Pharaoh and Pharoah Horemheb, who came after Tut, wanted to get rid of Tutankhamun's father, who was Akhenaten and got rid of all of the God's except the Aten, or midday sun, and everything to do with the "Heretic King" he erased the names of Akhenaten, Tutankhamun and Tut's Vizier, Ky. Then a flash flood pushed boulders and debris over Tutankhamun's tomb. It was only after one of the workers saw a Shabti with Tutankhamun's name on it.

I saw the artifacts in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo last year, very impressive! Definitely considering that, as mentioned by another commenter, he was not a very important Pharaoh.

they believe King Tut did not die a natural death but was murdered by fracturing his skull at the age of 19 one of the shortest reigns in Egyptian history.
