InspectorSmythe13, Actually it didn't. Disney did in fact invent the Genie. While the Genie is categorised as a djinn, that's where the similaries end. Djinns were vicious beings - forces of nature given names - and certainly didn't appear by rubbing a lamp. And while a djinn might grant you wishes, there would always be a downside to those wishes. For example if you wanted to be the riches man on earth, a djinn would fulfill it either by making everyone poorer than you, or by killing everyone richer than you.
